As you might expect, there are SPOILERS ahead. You’ve been warned.
It must take a pretty powerful force to steal the Earth right out of its orbit. More powerful, presumably, than the villains we’ve already been told will feature in the weekly “No Surrender” Avengers story, the Black Order and the (mostly) new Lethal Legion.

You know the Blood Brothers, Captain Glory is from the original “Marvel Boy” book and that’s a new Metal Master, from the same race of beings.
In Avengers #676, while the remaining non-frozen heroes try to figure out what to do, the two villains groups are loudly beamed down to the ground. They begin fighting each other immediately, but are stopped by two voices from the heavens — this is not how it’s supposed to go.

The two groups of bad guys are being pitted against each other, so one has to think the Grandmaster is involved. It helps that he’s name-checked earlier in the issue, too, during the “revelation” of how Voyager “died” in “Avengers #70.”

In case you’re wondering, the real Avengers #70 did indeed feature a competition between Kang and the Grandmaster, but it was the Squadron Sinister on the villainous side, and of course, Voyager was nowhere to be found.

Are we witnessing a Kang/Grandmaster rematch, with the Earth in the balance? The word bubbles don’t fit those seen in the “flashback,” so make of that what you will. Who else could be playing games with the lives of these villains?
Avengers #676 is on sale now.
