Hearthstone: Rise of Shadows established the League of E.V.I.L., a team of super-villains formed by Arch-Villain Rafaam, the final boss from the League of Explorers expansion. (The team consists of Rafaam, Heistbaron Togwaggle, Swampqueen Hagatha, Madame Lazul and Blastmaster Boom.)
What is a group of supervillains without a corresponding group of arch-nemeses, however? That is, a group of superheroes valiant enough to foil their nefarious schemes? The latest Hearthstone teaser from Team 5 presages that very answer, which could take place in the as of yet unnamed upcoming expansion.
The video depicts Heistbaron Togwaggle rappelling into the window of a Dalaran domicile wherein he encounters a set of Hearthstone playing cards face down on a table. Each time the Heistbaron tries to lift up the cards to sneak a peek he’s met by some very familiar music (ostensibly straight out of the League of Explorers expansion) and an epic, golden glow that intensifies with each glance — until he’s finally blown back by the cards’ heroic emanation. Togwaggle finally lets out frightened “Uh oh” to end the teaser.
Could this be a hint towards Reno Jackson and the League of Explorers forming their own super-team to combat the League of E.V.I.L.? Let us know what you think in the comments.
