Two big names are set to headline the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2020, as Batista and the nWo will be receiving the honor over WrestleMania weekend.
Batista’s inclusion was first reported by People magazine, while ESPN broke the news of the nWo’s induction. WWE confirmed the news on their website shortly thereafter.
The New World Order changed professional wrestling for good in 1996, when Kevin Nash and Scott Hall jumped ship from the then-WWF to WCW, and Hulk Hogan committed one of the most legendary heel turns in wrestling history to join them as the villainous nWo. While the faction had countless incarnations over the years throughout both WCW and WWE, the roster joining the Hall of Fame consists of Hogan, Nash, Hall and X-Pac, who was known in the original nWo as Syxx. This will make all four men two-time Hall of Famers, joining the likes of Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart and Booker T in that distinction.
“The Animal” Batista made it to WWE television back in 2002. He quickly made an impact as a member of Evolution alongside Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton. He would go on to have a successful singles career, being a six time world champion. After his in-ring days were over, Batista (real name Dave Bautista) pivoted to Hollywood, where he is a rising star thanks to his role in blockbuster movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Endgame.
Congratulations to Batista and the New World Order on their inductions!
