When The Mandalroian returns this fall for its second season, one of the new characters fans will meet is a bounty hunter from Djarin’s past played by none other than Michael Biehn.
The news was initially reported by Jason Ward of Making Stars and later confirmed by Aaron Couch of The Hollywood Reporter. Ward’s report also revealed that Bill Burr will be reprising his role as Mayfield from The Mandalorian‘s sixth episode, ‘The Prisoner.’ Not exactly my favorite episode (or character), but at least we’ll get to see the fallout from Djarin locking him and his crew up on that prison ship, and maybe get another cool scene like the this:
But back to Michael Biehn–as a child of the 80’s, I cannot tell you how excited I am for this bit of casting news. His portrayals of Kyle Reese in The Terminator and Corporal Hicks in Aliens are iconic. Whether he ends up as an ally or foe to the Mandalorian, Biehn as a grizzled veteran bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe feels like a role he was destined to play.
When you combine this with the recent news about Rosario Dawson being cast as Ahsoka, The Mandalorian‘s second season definitely appears to be swinging for the fences.
