Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino’s project after Primordial called The Bone Orchard Mythos was announced on Halloween, and today we’ve got more details via Lemire’s Substack. The biggest news to come out today is the fact that this isn’t a single series, but the start of a shared horror universe with interconnected stories.
Lemire detailed some books will be hardcover graphic novels, others will be mini-series and others will be long-form comic book series. Lemire also made it very clear this is not part of the same universe as Primordial or Gideon Falls.
The ambitious project will kick off with an original 20-page story in next year’s Image Comics Free Comic Book Day book written by Lemire with art by Sorrentino. In fact, Lemire made it clear he will be writing all of the stories and Sorrentino will be drawing all of the stories with the goal of releasing two to three books each year starting in the Summer of 2022 with a 100-page hardcover graphic novel titled Passageway. Readers won’t have to wait long as a 6 to 8 part mini-series will kick off in the Fall of 2022 with Ten Thousand Black Feathers. Following this is the hardcover graphic novel Tenement for 2023.
Make sure to check out Lemire’s Substack post, as it features plenty of art to check out.
