If you’re ready to pull yourself away from Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, and all of the other insanely great releases of 2022 so far, then March has some new fun games in store for you.
Let’s check out what video games are hitting storefronts this week.
WWE 2K22 (3/11)
The WWE 2K series makes a return this week with WWE 2K22, the first mainline game since 2019’s WWE 2K20. After 2K20‘s poor reception, a 2K21 was scrapped while developers worked on completely rebuilding the game’s engine for 2K22, providing for a smoother and better experience. Modes include MyGM (the series’ first GM mode since 2007), MyRISE (essentially MyCareer), and MyFACTION, where players will build a faction of wrestling superstars. MyFACTION will also be the only mode to utilize 2K’s infamous VS, so perhaps the game won’t suffer from the same grinding and microtransaction problems other 2K franchises do.
Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla — Dawn of Ragnarök (3/9)
Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla‘s third expansion, Dawn of Ragnarök, will have Eivor embrace the role of Odin and travel to Svartalfheim to rescue Baldr, Odin’s son, from fire giant Surtr. Using the bracer Hugr-Rip, Odin will face fire and frost giants who are invading Svartalfheim. The Hugr-Rip, looking very much like an Assassin’s blade the series is famous for, allows Odin to take their enemies’ powers during combat. Dawn of Ragnarök launches for $39.99 for owners of the main game and will include about 35 to 40 hours of gameplay. Hopefully sometime in the future the expansion will be sold separately, because I can’t be the only one not interested in Valhalla but really wanting to play Dawn of Ragnarök.
