‘The Boys’ reveals new cast members for season 4

Two original supes will join Homelander’s son Ryan as show regulars.

On Monday, the official Twitter account for Prime Video’s The Boys tweeted out a season four casting announcement. lad Cameron Crovetti, who portrays Homelander’s son Ryan, has been promoted to a series regular while Susan Heyward (Orange is the New Black) and Valorie Curry (The Tick) will play new supes named Sister Sage and Firecracker.

The news about Ryan shouldn’t come as a surprise, especially after the way season three ended. With him now fully under his psychotic dad’s wing, the boy will be a major part of what drives the series’ narrative forward.

As for Sister Sage and Firecracker, neither character appears in The Boys comic by Garth Ennis (writer) and Darick Robertson (art). While this means we won’t have anything to base our predictions on, Prime Video’s adaptation has completely reworked many of the characters for the series — including Jenson Ackles’ Soldier Boy.

Showrunner Eric Kripke also took to Twitter to assure fans that the new supes leave them “absolutely horrified & a tiny bit nauseous.” While that could point to them being antagonists, they could also be part of the show’s stable of complicated “good guys.” Whatever the case, it should be fun to watch how things play out next season.
