Gamescom gave us an extended look at the forthcoming Lies of P today and, oh boy, is it a doozy. Answering the question, “What if Timothée Chalamet starred in Bloodborne?” Lies of P is a soulslike action RPG that casts players as Pinocchio in a dark and murderous Belle Époque world.
The gameplay shows P taking on some seemingly low-level enemies while experimenting with different modulations to his prosthetic arm (much like Sekiro‘s Wolf). One is a hook that can pull distant enemies near with another is a firearm that shoots a delayed bomb.
Lies of P also bears a similar resemblance to Steelrising, another soulslike due out next month. It too received a new trailer today at Gamescom, and a closed beta begins tomorrow for those who preorder.
Lies of P looks exciting as all hell and will certainly scratch that itch that Bloodborne fans have had for the past seven years. It’ll launch sometime in 2023, although it can’t come soon enough for this gamer.
