#5: Immortal Legend Batman #3

‘Immortal Legend Batman’ #3 invites readers to tap into their inner Dark Knight

Immortal Legend Batman #3 invites its reader to be part of the story, as Batman faces this universe’s take on the Riddler. The series might be at the halfway point, but there’s still time to explore different aspects of this Elseworlds – and more ways to let readers get in on the action.

#4: Absolute Wonder Woman #13

‘Absolute Wonder Woman’ #13 is a stunning blend of myth, muscle, and emotional truth

Absolute Wonder Woman #13 is a stunning blend of myth, muscle, and emotional truth. A story that redefines Diana’s place in the Absolute Universe while delivering some of the most visually spectacular pages of the line so far. Kelly Thompson and Matías Bergara make a powerhouse team, proving once again that Wonder Woman’s stories aren’t just about fighting gods, they’re about understanding what makes one divine.

#3: Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #5

‘Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion’ #5 is both an ending and a beginning

Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #5 brings Miles Morales’ Earth-6160 visit to an end, while also sowing seeds for the future. Marvel has promised that the fallout will affect both universes, starting in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #39 and The Ultimates #17 (which are both out this week.) Its most significant impact is showcasing how Miles has grown as a character since the end of the original Ultimate Universe, and proves that no matter what Earth he’s on, he’ll live up to the legend of Spider-Man.

#2: Green Lantern Dark #7

‘Green Lantern Dark’ #7 finally finds the light

That might be why this book is set in New England. It’s a non-traditional place for a hero, and Rina is certainly a non-traditional hero. If this is a hopeful origin story, it’s not one that’s going to have a Saturday morning cartoon. It’s a perfect Halloween release for DC that captures a creepy setting, while also helping deliver its heroes to Providence in its final pages. If previous issues struggled, Green Lantern Dark #7 proved that this book is certainly worth a read.

#1: Escape #3

‘Escape’ #3 is a high-intensity masterpiece

Escape #3 is another rock-solid entry that lives up to its title, stacking the odds higher than ever against Milton Shaw. Remender and Acuna continue to prove that Escape isn’t just about the battles around us, it’s about the war within. This story is badass, unapologetic, and only continues to build momentum.
