Dark Horse Books has announced The Black Beetle Omnibus, a new collection celebrating Francesco Francavilla’s pulp-inspired crime fighter. The paperback volume gathers every Black Beetle story written and illustrated by Francavilla to date, bringing the character’s adventures together in one edition for the first time.
The omnibus includes the full-length tales No Way Out and Kara Bocek, along with the one-shot Night Shift. Readers will also find a range of bonus material, including concept art, layouts, character studies, vintage-style lobby cards, sketchbook pages, and a newly illustrated cover by Francavilla created specifically for this release.
In No Way Out, the Black Beetle investigates a devastating explosion that wipes out much of Colt City’s organized crime network. Kara Bocek sends the masked hero overseas under the alias Tom Sawyer as he battles Nazis in pursuit of a mysterious artifact with immense destructive potential. In Night Shift, a magical relic surfaces at the Colt City Natural History Museum, drawing the attention of Hitler’s Werewolf Korps and setting the stage for another high-stakes confrontation.
Francavilla shared his excitement about seeing the character’s published adventures collected in a single volume, describing it as an ideal way for new readers to discover the neo-noir hero and for longtime fans to revisit the shadowy streets of Colt City ahead of future stories.
The Black Beetle Omnibus arrives in bookstores and comic shops on September 22, 2026. The 216-page paperback will retail for $29.99 and is available now for preorder through major booksellers and local comic shops.
