Rob Liefeld is expanding on his world of Youngblood with a brand new spinoff, teaming with artist Seth Damoose for Badrock, an action-driven solo series launching this July from Image Comics.
The series puts the spotlight on one of Youngblood’s most popular characters, shifting the focus to a more personal story while keeping the high-stakes superhero action intact. Not only is this about explosive battles, but also a mission that hits closer to home than ever before.
“After saving our county, our planet and even, our dimension, Badrock is tasked with saving his most important mission, saving his MOM!” said Liefeld. “It’s a tall order as he must overcome a gauntlet of villainy and manipulation that he had never encountered! It’s a personal journey with an emotional core that pushes Badrock as he has never been pressed before! I’ve been a huge fan a Seth Damoose and started him drawing this new stage of Badrock’s journey last summer. His style and storytelling are fantastic! I’m so excited for everyone to see Seth’s amazing work!”
When Badrock’s mother is abducted, the youngest and most dynamic member of the team is forced into a dangerous situation, answering to mysterious forces and facing threats unlike anything he has encountered before.
The debut issue will also feature variant covers by Liefeld, Damoose, and Brett Bean, adding extra appeal for collectors when the series hits shelves this July.
