Nintendo Switch: Fastest selling console in U.S. history

The Nintendo Switch is the fastest selling console in U.S. history.

That’s the word today, according to Nintendo: the Switch is the fastest selling console of all time, beating out even the Wii.

Nintendo Switch: Fastest selling console in U.S. history

As these numbers are based on Nintendo’s own internal estimates, this might not be 100% reflected in Switch consoles actually in consumers’ hands. Still, the current totals stand at 4.8 million units sold in 10 months, where the Wii moved 4 million in the same amount of time.

The remarkable part? This is a console that I SEARCHED for, for months with no luck, and have only recently seen in stock on store shelves for more than a day. In contrast, the Wii was everywhere and everyone I knew had no issue picking one up. I can only imagine what 2018 will bring with a higher supply of the very in demand portable console. Congrats to Nintendo on an amazing launch and thanks for making the gaming world even more competitive!
