Black Panther isn’t just the King of Wakanda — this past weekend, the latest Marvel movie offering (starring Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan) was also king of the President Day’s weekend box office, raking in an estimated $192 million during the three-day-period. That puts Black Panther at the fifth largest three-day opening in history according to Box Office Mojo:

Black Panther also broke a few other notable records — largest February opening of all time (beating out Deadpool, Fifty Shades of Grey and The Passion of the Christ) and largest opening for an African-American director, putting director Ryan Coogler ahead of previous record holder, Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray.
The film is expected to clear $218 million over the four-day holiday period and within the Marvel Cinematic Universe had the second largest opening, trailing only 2012’s The Avengers.
