EA may not be most gamers’ favorite video game publisher, but they still publish a huge collection of important games, from Madden and FIFA to Battlefield and Anthem. Oh yeah, and they also own the license to publish games for a little franchise called Star Wars. EA had a lot to talk about this year, but here are the five most important announcements:
Battle Royale modes seem to be tacked onto every game these days, and Battlefield V is joining the trend popularized by Fortnite and PUBG with a Battle Royale mode of its own.
FIFA 19 is coming, but if you’re new to the franchise, you have the opportunity to download and play FIFA 18 in a Free Trial mode for free. This includes the entire game, and is not just a truncated demo.
Respawn and EA announce ‘Star Wars: Jedi: Fallen Order’ at E3
Details were very scarce for this game, which is hopefully a single player experience. You play as a Jedi during/after Order 66 — but unfortunately, we won’t be able to play this one until holiday season 2019.
Star Wars: Battlefront II dives into the Clone Wars with Obi-Wan, Anakin, Grievous and more
Continuing on the prequel theme, EA talked about Battlefront II‘s newest additions, which are themed around the Clone Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and General Grievous will be playable characters, and you’ll be able to explore the planet Geonosis.
The adorable platformer sequel has a surprise release date: RIGHT NOW!
What did you think of EA’s showing at E3 this year? Are you excited? Disappointed? Somewhere in between?
