Disney’s streaming service, Disney+ is set to launch in the later half of this year with a number of films and shows ready from the get-go. One of those shows is a new Marvel production entitled The Vision and Scarlet Witch. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Captain Marvel co-screenwriter Jac Schaeffer has been hired as showrunner. She will write the pilot episode as well as serve as Executive Producer for the series.

In the MCU, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) was experimented on, alongside her brother Quiksilver, by Baron von Strucker and terror organisation Hydra. She has magical, reality-warping powers (“Her thing is neuro-electric interfacing, telekinesis, mental manipulation,” as Agent Maria Hill put it in Avengers: Age of Ultron), with glowing red energy appearing when she uses them.
Vision (Paul Bettany) was the Iron Man A.I. JARVIS implemented into a synthetic vibranium android body with the yellow Infinity Stone, the Mind Stone, embedded in his head. The two, who had exhibited hints of a romantic relationship in the course of the MCU films in which they appeared after Avengers: Age of Ultron were seen to be a romantic couple in Avengers: Infinity War before the infamous Thanos snap.
The release date for The Vision and Scarlet Witch is currently unknown.
