Doctor Who’s Matt Smith is in final talks to join ‘Morbius’

His role is currently unknown.

From time travel to vampires, as Variety reports that Matt Smith is in final talks to join Morbius. His role in the film is currently unknown, but if talks are successful, he’ll be joining Jared Leto, who’s playing the titular character.

Smith’s most well known role would be the eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who, which he starred in until 2013. Most recently, he played Prince Phillip in Netflix series The Crown.

As noted by Variety, Morbius was created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane, debuting in 1971. He was a scientist trying to cure himself of a blood disease, but with disastrous results. He became a Living Vampire, needing to feed on blood to survive and often battled Spider-Man.
