‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ trailer shows Spidey stepping up to fill the shoes of those lost in ‘Avengers: Endgame’

The official Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer features Spider-Man wallcrawling up to fill the shoes of the fallen.

Spoiler alert: Do not watch the following trailer if you haven’t yet seen Avengers: Endgame.

Warning: If the following trailer doesn’t clue you in to the fact that Spider-Man (Tom Holland) somehow made his way back to the land of the un-dusted in Avengers: Endgame, then maybe the trailer and poster from five months ago did. Or the LEGO sets featuring Mysterio, Spidey, Hydro Man and Molten Man. Or the… well, you get the idea. Chances are most fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe had an idea Spider-Man would be coming back after the Snap, and the official trailer revealed earlier today deals with Peter and crew dealing with the direct ramifications of the five-year jump and the world directly after Endgame.

The official MCU synopsis:

Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man™: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man™: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!

Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) working for Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D.? What is this, some sort of illusion? We’re glad to see Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) and Peter’s comedic synergy in full effect, by the way — although we wonder how MJ (Zendaya) ostensibly figuring out Peter Parker is Spider-Man’s alter ego is going to play out.

Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 2nd, 2019.
