Hey 80’s kids, it’s time to return to the world of Thra. Netlix has released the trailer for the new series Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
The trailer looks great! Fans of the original, will definitely want to check it out, but it’s not just banking on nostalgia. The trailer for the series brings a dark story of tyranny, bravery, and hope that will resound with newer audiences. The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance serves as a prequel to the 1982 film The Dark Crystal. The original film was met with mixed reviews. Jim Henson was known for lighter subject matter such as The Muppets and Fraggle Rock. The Dark Crystal dealt with darker themes and some not so cute muppets.
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance brings together the voices of Awkwafina, Caitriona Balfe, Helena Bonham Carter, and Taron Egerton. The series premiers on Netflix August 30th.
