This November, Marvel Comics is releasing a lot of great new books and many of them are related to their alternate-timeline “2099” line of books. Creators like Nick Spencer, Gerry Duggan, Lonnie Nadler and Zac Thompson, and Karla Pacheco will be contributing to the run of titles, including a series called 2099 Alpha by Spencer and Victor Bogdonovic which appears to use most of the 2099 characters, while Gerry Duggan and Roge Antonio look to be writing a Conan 2099 book. What the what?!
Along with these new series reveals, Marvel is harnessing the power of variant covers across their line. Variant covers for Black Cat, J.J. Abrams’ Spider-Man, Hulk, Excalibur, and more will be gracing your favorite series’ covers.
It appears this resurgence of 2099 characters all starts in Amazing Spider-Man #33 and #34, which reveals Spider-Man 2099/Miguel O’Hara is back in Peter Parker’s life and, “Spider-Man 2099’s present is our crumbling future.” Uh oh!
