It looks like Batman will have a real fight on his hands come 2021. He already has Paul Dano’s Riddler and Zoe Kravitz’ Catwoman to contend with, but he’ll likely have to combat the Penguin as well, as Deadline reports that Colin Farrell’s in talks to play the notorious crime lord.
Farrell’s got some experience with comic book cinema, having previously played the unhinged assassin, Bullseye, in Mark Steven Johnson’s Daredevil. Penguin was most recently portrayed by Robin Lord Taylor in FOX’s Gotham and last appeared on the silver screen in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, portrayed by Danny DeVito.
The Batman flies into theaters on June 25th, 2021.
