Overwatch’s 2019 Winter Wonderland event is now live

Ugly sweaters, snowballs, and Yetis have come to Overwatch.

Blizzard’s annual Winter Wonderland holiday event is officially back.

Each year the event delivers new holiday themed cosmetic items for players to unlock and the popular in-game arcade modes, Mei’s Snowball Offensive and Yeti Hunter.

Players can unlock seven new skins this year, four of which are legendary and can be obtained from loot boxes or purchased with gold, they are: Jotunn Doomfist, Mountain Man McCree, Rat King Reaper, and Rime Sigma. The remaining three, Ugly Sweater 76, Holly Moira, and Snow Angel Mercy, can be obtained through the weekly mini-challenges. As always, if you choose to purchase your skins with in-game currency, Legendary skins are priced at 3,000 gold and Epic at 750.

A new game mode joins Mei’s Snowball Offensive and Yeti Hunter this year, Snowball Deathmatch. This eight-person free-for-all deathmatch allows players to store a clip of three one-shot kill snowballs in Mei’s snowblaster. Competing in this game mode will allow players to unlock three new achievements and unique cosmetic sprays.

Winter Wonderland 2019 runs from Dec. 10 to Jan. 2.
