Netflix’s Daybreak generated buzz last fall at New York Comic Con prior to its premiere. The show is based off of the Brian Ralph comic series of the same name and follows a group of teens navigating a post-apocalyptic world avoiding high school clique-based gangs and the zombie-like, ghoulies.
Unfortunately, the streaming giant has passed on a second season. Co-creator, Aon Coleite, broke the news on social media last night.
“We learned last week that Daybreak will not be returning for a second season,” Coleite stated. “Thank you for picking up what we put down, for running with it in all of your amazing, weird, monstrous ways and for being such an important part of this show and our experience making it.”

Daybreak marks another comic-based show cancelled by Netflix. Earlier this year, they announced their entire Marvel slate would end. At least there’s new Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The Umbrella Academy to look forward to.
