The original Crysis is coming to every modern platform for gaming in remastered form — Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Fans first learned something was afoot with the game when the official Crysis Twitter tweeted a cryptic tease on Monday, “RECEIVING DATA,” which was the first tweet out of the account in well over three years. Followed by another Tweet on Tuesday, “Hey Nomad, you’re still with us?”.
Then earlier today Twitter user lashman discovered the Crysis website’s cookie policy page was sporting the Crysis Remastered logo, which when clicked lead to a new website with new artwork. The site was quickly taken down, but with the internet being the internet, the artwork and news was already everywhere. Not too long after that the official announcement was made and here we are.
Developer Crytek doesn’t tell us too much about the new game beyond the following: “Crytek’s ground-breaking, critically acclaimed first person shooter is back! Crysis Remastered is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch – the game’s debut on a Nintendo platform.”
When Crysis launched it was originally a PC exclusive that was famous for its extremely detailed environments, sandbox combat, and strict hardware requirements.
