Today, Sony Pictures announced that the third MCU Spider-Man film and the sequel to the Into the Spider-Verse would have their release dates pushed back due to delays caused by the COVID-19 shutdown.
Spider-Man: Home Alone (not the film’s real title, but the one I wish for) moves from July 16, 2021 to November 5, 2021, while the next installment of Into the Spider-Verse moves from April 8, 2022 to October 7, 2022.
In a move that assuredly coincides with this news, Marvel Studios announced that Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness has been moved from November 5, 2021 (Spidey’s new premiere date) to March 25, 2022. They also announced that Thor: Love and Thunder‘s premiere date has actually been moved up from February 18, 2022 to February 11, 2022. Not much of a change, but I think we’ll take any small bit of good news we can get right now when it comes to future films’ release dates.
