It appears that a massive amount of majors spoilers have leaked online for Naughty Dog’s high-anticipated upcoming sequel, The Past of Us Part II. The leaks include gameplay, menus, unfinished multiplayer code, and a number of cutscenes that include crucial story details, including how it ends. While Sony has removed the original source of the leak, a YouTube channel, with the internet being the internet, the spoiler details are naturally everywhere.
A number of Reddit threads across several of the major gaming subreddits have been covering the leaks, with links to all of the spoilers still being available as of this article’s posting. It’s not clear if the plot details revealed are set in stone, as several online users have pointed out that the leaked videos are from a development build of the game. Regardless, we will not be posting links to any of the leaked materials or discussing spoilers.
If you want to avoid spoilers we highly recommend that you be very careful on social media for the next few days, especially Twitter. In the past when big leaks have occurred, nefarious parties have been known to configure bots which auto-reply with spoilers to any posts mentioning the spoiled media. You should also add TLOU2 and any other tags related to The Last of Us Part II to your mute word list on Twitter.
At the beginning of April Sony announced the The Last of Us Part II had been delayed indefinitely alongside Marvel’s Iron Man VR due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This marks the second time the highly-anticipated sequel has been delayed, with its original release date being pushed back from February to May 29 back in October of 2019.
Be careful with spoilers today everyone. And please, if you’ve already read them, do not spoil the game for anyone else.
