‘Color Out of Space’ and ‘The Shed’ coming to Shudder

Both movies will premiere on Shudder later this year.

Shudder announced it has acquired the exclusive streaming rights to Color Out of Space and The Shed. Director Richard Stanley’s adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s classic short story is a favorite here at AIPT. The movie is about a meteorite that lands in family’s front yard. Starring Nicholas Cage, Color Out of Space is a beautiful and disgusting movie that has been a festival favorite since its debut.

The Shed is a different type of vampire story. Two friends have been bullied their entire lives. When one of them finds out there is a murderous vampire living in his shed, problems arise. The two friends have different ideas regarding how to handle the situation and how it can possibly change their lives.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Shudder members Stanley’s masterful adaptation of one of H.P. Lovecraft’s most influential stories—as well as another unforgettable Nicolas Cage performance—and Sabatella’s inventive new take on the vampire genre,” said Shudder General Manager Craig Engler. “The first half of 2020 has been the most successful in Shudder history, and these two great films will be part of an already-strong second half of the year, alongside titles like Scare PackageThe Beach HouseLa LloronaScare Me and our upcoming original documentary on the history of Queer Horror.”

Both movies will premiere on Shudder later this year.
