In a surprise announcement today, NECA revealed that they will be releasing a 7″ scale King Kong figure this fall.

This is an original take on the classic monster and does not appear to be directly related to the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong movie (Playmates has the license for those). That being said, the film is sure to spark even more interest in the beloved kaiju, especially for a toy representation as good as this one.
While Kong’s scale might be 7″, the figure itself actually stands over 8″ tall. It has 30 points of articulation (!) and features some outstanding hair and and battle wound detailing. Kong also comes with an alternate head and hands, making its $27.99 MSRP (which most sites are beating) an absolute steal.
