AIPT Comics Podcast is back! Dave and Forrest tackle the biggest news, review the best books, and look to next week’s June 17th releases. We also have special guests James Tynion IV and Michael Dialynas to talk about brand new limited-series Wynd! We talk fantasy world-building, creature creation, and more! Before the interview, we break down the news. First up, FCBD moves to July from Marvel, Jupiter’s Legacy is getting TPB reprints in prep for Netflix show this fall, and Geoff Johns will be teaching a course at the Kubert School.
DC Comics is going all-in with anthologies and extra-sized books starting with Death Metal getting 3 one-shot stories in September (and Snyder details the release), DC is releasing SUMMER SIZZLE, Detective Comics is getting a 144-pager and JOKER WAR ZONE is announced. Hellblazer Rise and Fall is also announced which is a 3-part series by Tom Taylor coming in September.
News also came out Brian Michael Bendis is wrapping up his Superman run…but what does this mean, plus Bendis introducing new Superman villain this September. SDCC is set for July…virtually, a new Iron Man suit and series creative team was announced, and DC Comics and Diamond make a short term plan.
