Yesterday, NECA announced the third of their four exclusive items for SDCC 2020: The Ultimate Summer Games Gremlin.
- Day 1 Exclusive: TMNT Musical Mutagen Tour 4 Pack
- Day 2 Exclusive: Predator 2 Ultimate City Demon

The design for this one comes via a super deep cut into some ’80s nostalgia. Back in 1984, The United States hosted the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. That same summer, the original Gremlins film was released.
According to Scary Basement Media, the following three posters were plastered all over L.A. city to help promote the film (with the aforementioned figure modeled off the one on the left).

As far as the toy itself is concerned, it stands at approximately 6″ tall and comes with some unquestionably unique accessories, including an Olympic torch.
The figure goes on sale July 23 and will be available for $29.96 at Walmart (HA!) or $34.98 through NECA’s online store. I love Gremlins as much as any kid who grew up during the ’80s/’90s, but never enough to put them on my toy shelf. That being said, this is a really cool looking figure with the exact type of niche appeal that exclusive items are supposed to have.
