The Hollywood Reporter had the scoop on a new super team-up between comics creators and superstar actor Oscar Isaac. The comics project is with Legendary Comics and will have Brian Buccellato writing, with art by Christian Ward.
How does Isaac fit into the equation? It’s for a project Isaac’s production company Mad Gene is developing in collaboration with the direction of Bob Johnson, and John Alvey–two longtime friends of Isaac’s.
Titled Head Wounds: Sparrow, the story is inspired by a dream Johnson had following the diagnosis of 4 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Centered around the character of Leo Guidry, the story is about a cop who has a psychic head wound which allows him to survive a war between angels, devils, “and everything in-between'”

Ward took to Twitter to express his excitement saying the project is “Stretching some different muscles” for him. He also joked–I think–that he and Isaac are now best friends.
The one thing I’m most excited about this OGN is it’s so different for me. Im so enjoying stretching some different muscles. A southern gothic crime with a supernatural flavour. Hard boiled crime with weird shit. There will be blood. pic.twitter.com/COvIiLMJ7d

Head Wounds: Sparrow will be available digitally and in stores early 2021, according to the publisher.
