AIPT Comics Podcast Episode 113: Guest Cullen Bunn walks us through the deadside with ‘Shadowman’

Cullen Bunn joins the AIPT Comics podcast this week to discuss the new Shadowman from Valiant Entertainment launching April 28th. We dig into what makes Shadowman work, blending superheroes and horror, working with Jon Davis-Hunt, and so much more. We also get confirmation on whether Dennis Hopeless and Bunn have a Valiant event coming and Bunn shares an interesting solo X-Men title idea you won’t want to miss.

Before the interview with Cullen Bunn, we discuss the biggest news of the week. Starting things off in a sad place, we learned this week San Diego Comic-Con has canceled the in-person event for Comic-Con@Home 2021. In other surprising news, a new documentary is in the works called Mike Mignola: Drawing Monsters which you can back on Kickstarter. We discuss other creators we think deserve a documentary.

In big-two news, DC Comics announced the 6-issue Infinite Frontier summer event as well as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow coming this June. Marvel to celebrating Captain America with The United States of Captain America in June as well and also revealed new Heroes Reborn covers by Carlos Pacheco hinting at heroic origins and all the tie-in comics out in June. It was also revealed by Reedpop a delay of the Chris Claremont Premiere X-Men Bundle will shift the release to June.

Vault Comics announced an agreement with Simon & Schuster which is huge for their distribution and Dark Horse sets September 8th for Neil Gaiman’s Chivalry.
