Fans of series like Batman: Black & White or minimalist art should prick up their ears as Gerry Duggan and John McCrea’s Dead Eyes series is getting a new artbook. Now available to back on Kickstarter, the Dead Eyes artbook reprints the first arc of the series, which we here at AIPT said “is a book largely propelled by superb character writing, well-paced action, and gritty tone. Be sure to grab this one.”
Reprinted in oversized black and white, without lettering, each page has the original script presented beside it with roughs, layouts, and unused panels and pages also shown for the first time. If you’re a fan of how comics are made this is for you. The Kickstarter features tiers ranging from £10 to £700 with plenty of stretch goals too.
Take a look at the book below.
The book will be roughly 200 pages long and is designed by Rian Hughes.
In promoting the book, Duggan revealed on his Twitter a second volume is coming later this year.
We promised more Dead Eyes and we weren’t fucking around. B&W oversized art edition here with scripts, extras and a second volume later in the year from @ImageComics. https://t.co/3iAICYkMJB
