Ben Mendelsohn is rumored to return as Orson Krennic in ‘Star Wars: Andor’

‘Star Wars: Andor’ continues to beef up its cast, if a recent report is to be believed.

On Thursday, Tom Drew of TheDirect exclusively revealed that Ben Mendelsohn will reprise his role as Orson Krennic for Disney+’s upcoming Andor series.

So how reliable of a source is TheDirect? Well, they aren’t quite to the level of virtual confirmation that a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, or Variety is. That being said, they also get a good percentage of scoops right — and they certainly aren’t one of those insufferable clickbait sites your annoying aunt posts stories from on Facebook.

That doesn’t mean Ben Mendelsohn’s casting is something we can 100% bank on, but the smart money is on this happening, which is all types of exciting.

Since Andor will place chronologically before the events of Rogue One, there’s no reason Orson Krennic couldn’t be a part of the narrative. Also, considering the recent news that about Forest Whitaker returning to play Saw Gerrera, it looks like the highly anticipated Disney+ series is going to add multiple cast members from my favorite Star Wars movie.

Could casting news about Mads Mikkelson as Galen Erso be next?
