There were a few anticipated games we were all hoping to see at the Sony PlayStation Showcase 2021 event like Spider-Man 2, but a biggy for most was God of War. Sure, Wolverine was a huge surprise, but given how robust the God of War franchise is and how hard it’d be to top the excellent PS4 game I had my doubts they’d deliver.
Sony revealed the game later in the presentation, likely to drive up the sweat on our brow, and it didn’t disappoint. No date was given as far as when God of War: Ragnarok would be released, though back in June it was revealed the sequel wouldn’t arrive till at least 2022.
Check out the trailer below.
The post-showcase interview with the God of War director Eric Williams revealed Thor would factor into the narrative heavily. We learned actor Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy) will be voicing Thor in the game and Williams also said they’ll be capping off the Norse series with this game.
Now, who is ready for Kratos to say “boy” 5,000 times?
