On Monday, Hasbro another Fan First Livestream to show off even more great upcoming products. After going over some earlier reveals (and totally not discussing the HasLab Sentinel leg issue), we got to the Spider-Man themed goodness.
The following figures will go up for preorder on Tuesday at 1:00 PM from your preferred online retailers. The price was not given, but you can probably bank on $22.99. All of these figures will also fall under the Retro Collection banner, which means you get really good packaging, but no possibility of a Build-A-Figure.
We already saw this one over the weekend, but its awesomeness is definitely worth another look.
Hobgoblin (Animated Series)
While I appreciate Hasbro’s effort to recreate the character’s look in the ’90s animated series, I still like the last version much better.
The fact that this is on the new/amazing figure buck makes it a tempting purchase, but I’m not a big enough Ben Reilly fan to replace the one we got a few years ago.
Absolute must buy. We may have gotten an alternate head with Chameleon, but Hammerhead finally gets a dedicated figure that looks fantastic.
Armored Spider-Man (Mark 1)
A figure’s got to be a significant upgrade for me to replace a one-off in my collection. In this case, the new Armored Spider-Man is a HUGE step up from the last one. Add in some sweet web effects, and this is a definite buy.
I was ready to brush this one off until I compared it to the most recent Marvel Legends Shocker. In addition to the classic costume (which looks significantly better), the figure also features pinless articulation.
*Sigh* No way I’m going to able to resist buying this one, is there?
Let’s move on to the non-Spidey reveals from today, which are also under the Retro Collection banner and are expected to be available later this Fall.
Now THAT’s the version of Falcon I’ve been waiting for. Unfortunately, we still don’t have Sam Wilson’s Falcon Cap look (from the comics) with wings in this scale.
I usually greatly prefer comic-based figures. In this case, however, I’d much rather see one with Richard Grant’s likeness.
Not a huge fan of the character, but that is an absolutely stunning figure. She was also only previously available in a hard to find A-Force boxset.
Other News/Reveals for 2022
- There will be a legless figure
- There will be a Spider-Man Retro Collection figure on an oversize Toybiz card.
- Two characters who have never appeared in the Toybiz or Hasbro Marvel Legends line.
