Tonight on SmackDown, WWE announced most of the entrants in this year’s women’s Royal Rumble match, featuring several legends — including current Impact Knockouts Champion, Mickie James. James was let go by WWE last year, and made headlines when she revealed that WWE sent Mickie her belongings in a garbage bag, making the return especially interesting.
Other surprising names include Summer Rae, who was released in 2017, Kelly Kelly, the Bella Twins, Lita, and Michelle McCool.
WWE’s women’s rosters are pretty light on Raw and SmackDown after the company spent 2021 releasing upwards of 80 Superstars, but it seems like WWE has settled on a solution to fill out the annual 30-woman over-the-top-rope battle royale.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair also entered the match, saying if she wins, she will hand-pick her opponent for WrestleMania.
