EA and Lucasfilm partner for three upcoming Star Wars games from Respawn

A Star Wars Jedi games, an FPS, and a strategy game are all in development from Respawn Entertainment.

Lucasfilm is once again working with EA to develop more Star Wars games. The companies announced today that Respawn Entertainment, developer of the Titanfall games, Apex Legends, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is working on three separate Star Wars games. One is the next entry in the Star Wars Jedi series, one is an FPS, and the third is a strategy game.

“[Respawn Entertainment] have demonstrated excellence in telling epic Star Wars stories along with best-in-class gameplay across different genres and we are looking forward to bringing more amazing experiences to the galaxy far, far away,” Douglas Reilly, VP of Lucasfilm Games, said in a press release.

No word has been given yet if the next Jedi game will see Cameron Monaghan or his character Cal Kestis return from Fallen Order, or if the game will even be taking place in the same era. The Jedi series, as with the FPS and strategy games, could conceivably take place anywhere across Star Wars‘ timeline. The FPS Star Wars game is very notable as Respawn made its name with Titanfall and Titanfall 2, which was critically lauded upon release.

This is a great time to be a gamer and a Star Wars fan. Quantic Dream is working on bringing its choice-based narratives to the High Republic with Star Wars Eclipse, Ubisoft is developing an open world Star Wars title, and a KOTOR remake is in the works from Aspyr.
