Who was that voice in the ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ trailer?

New Doctor Strange trailer leans into the multiverse.

Marvel Studios released a new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer right before the Superbowl and it takes the idea of the multiverse up a notch. Aside from impressive special effects, the trailer also revealed a lot more Scarlet Witch and her role in the movie.

The biggest thing longtime Marvel movie fans will note, however, is a blink and you’ll miss it moment. More accurately, it’s an auditory element.

Watch the trailer below.

What will have Marvel Studios fans excited? Spoilers ahead! You’ve been warned.

In a quick scene, we see Doctor Strange handcuffed entering an empty room with chairs high up as if he’s about to be judged. As he settles in, he eyeballs someone off-camera. We then hear a voice, but never see them speak say, “We should tell him the truth.” The voice is none other than Patrick Stewart and one must assume he’s reprising his role as Professor Charles Xavier.

Could this be the Fox Studios X-Men connection to the MCU fans have been wishing for? Who else might pop up in this multiverse-shattering movie? Considering literally anyone could show up and it won’t matter after DoctorNew  Strange “fixes” things, my guess is it’ll be filled with cameos. There are rumors going around about who might show up, but my money is Doctor Strange running into Tony Stark as played by Tom Cruise. He was an actor that was long rumored for the role.

We here at AIPT have pondered what the Fox/Disney merger meant and while we’re all hoping for Hugh Jackman to reprise the role as Wolverine I think most of us will settle on Xavier.

If you’re a hardcore comics reader you might even consider Doctor Strange could be speaking to New Avengers: The IIlluminati. They were a secret group of major Marvel characters including Mr. Fantastic, Black Bolt, Iron Man, Namor, Doctor Strange, and Xavier all of which made decisions to serve the greater good. Illuminati is a comic series by Brian Michael Bendis, Brian Reed, and Jim Cheung.
