The biggest new video games releasing the week of 3/28/22

Check out what’s new in the world of video games this week.

A hot start to 2022 for video games continues this week. After heavy hitters like Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla — Dawn of Ragnarök and surprise gems like Tunic, March has been a great month for gamers, and that month continues this week with more can’t miss releases.

Let’s check out what video games are hitting storefronts this week.

Weird West (3/31)

From the founder of Arkane Studios (of Dishonored fame) comes Weird West, the first game from Raphaël Colantonio’s WolfEye Studios. Weird West is set exactly where you’d expect — on the American frontier in the 1800s, but with a supernatural twist. It will meld together fast-action gameplay with elements of immersive sim games. Permadeath is present and alterations done to the game’s world will be permanent.

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut (3/30)

The director’s cut of delivery man simulator Death Stranding arrives this week. The game was originally released for the PS4 in 2019 and PC in 2020 with an upgraded director’s cut coming to PS5 last fall. The director’s cut comes with added weapons and vehicles, new missions, and upgraded visuals. If you’re in the mood to explore a grotesque and odd sandbox with unique social elements intertwined with gameplay, then Death’s Stranding: Director’s Cut is for you.

In Nightmare (3/29)

In Nightmare is a horror puzzle game driven by its narrative. It’s set in a dark nightmare created by a young boy’s trauma and bad memories. Gameplay involves solving puzzles to advance further and not getting caught by the horrors present in the world. Don’t let its graphics or art style fool you — there’re plenty of frightening sights and sounds to encounter in In Nightmare.
