The biggest new video games releasing the week of 4/11/22

Check out what’s new in the world of video games this week.

2022 has been off to a blazing start for gamers, from major releases like Pokémon Legends: Arceus to Horizon Forbidden West to Elden Ring. Game releases may be slowing down in April, but there’s still plenty to look forward to.

Let’s check out what video games are hitting storefronts this week.

Nobody Saves the World (4/14)

Dungeon crawler Nobody Saves the World finally lands on the PS4, PS5, and Switch this week after previously only being available on PC and Xbox consoles. Take control of the titular Nobody, armed with only a wand, and transform into over 15 forms, including a dragon, a magician, and a ghost, to fight your way through procedurally generated dungeons. You’ll complete quests for your forms as means of leveling them up and acquiring new abilities, which you then can assign to other forms as a way of customizing how you want to play. Online co-op is also available, so you and a friend can customize your builds to maximize each other.

eFootball 2022 (4/14)

The free-to-play eFootball 2022 was widely panned after its initial release during fall of last year, with everything from its gameplay to its graphics to its lack of content being criticized. Konami recognized this negative response and is releasing a new update this week, version 1.0.0, as a means of turning the game around. “[W]e were too focused on getting the game out on time that we lost sight of the most important thing — quality,” Konami wrote in the announcement for the version 1.0.0 update, which seems to truly launch the game. Time will tell if this update — which promises enhanced gameplay, better online connectivity, and a new “Dream Team” mode — will bring players back or be the final nail in eFootball‘s coffin.

Cat Cafe Manager (4/14)

If you’ve grown bored of Animal Crossing: New Horizons or wish Cozy Grove had more cats and coffee, then allow me to introduce you to your next favorite game: Cat Cafe Manager. You’ll be able to build the “cat cafe of your dreams” by leveling up your cafe’s cats, renovating the cafe, creating new recipes for customers, and befriending locals. Each cat has unique stats and personality and it’s up to you to figure out how to use your cats to help your business succeed.
