This week, Diamond announced a new Red Hulk figure for their 7″ scale Marvel Select toyline. I initially dismissed the news as them simply releasing the one from 2008. Upon clicking on the item’s page, however, I was surprised to discover that this is a completely different figure.

While it still has Marvel Select’s standard 16 points of articulation, the figure is a big improvement from the last one — especially in regards to where they put the joints. Whether you agree with that assessment or not, I think we can all agree that this plastic version of the character (designed by Yuri Timg and sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios) looks fantastic and will move a whole lot better.
The figure is also approximately 9″ tall, which would easily make it one of the tallest figures in your collection. Even if you primarily collect 6″ Marvel Legends, though, a character like this can still look in scale standing alongside them.
Sadly, the 2022 version of Red Hulk doesn’t come with a diorama base like his 2008 counterpart did. His pants aren’t as nicely detailed, either.

Inflation makes Hulk angry!
Red Hulk will retail for $29.99 and can be preordered now from Diamond’s website with an expected arrival in October.
