On Monday, Hasbro revealed the latest Marvel Legends figure for their VHS/’90s X-Men Animated Series subline. This time, it’s the fan-favorite character Morph.
Although he’s roughly based on Changeling, Morph was created specifically for X-Men: The Animated Series as narrative cannon fodder. Fans of that show (which includes a lot of us) will likely remember how he was seemingly killed off in the second episode only to return as a villain in the second season. He eventually became a good guy again, but that was one heck of a dark story arc for us ’90s kids.
The figure comes with two different heads to portray the character in both his good and evil state. The sculpt looks pretty solid and the jacket covers that cel-shading effect we’re all growing tired of. The figure also comes packaged in one of those great-looking VHS retro boxes that can even make an opener like me smile.
Morph will be sold exclusively through Hasbro Pulse. The figure will be available for preorder on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 PM EDT. No pricing or arrival information has been released yet, but we can likely expect it to be $27.99 and sometime in 2023.
