Earlier this week, Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter exclusively revealed that Lady Gaga is in talks to join Todd Phillips’ sequel to 2019’s Joker.
Considering that the current working title is Joker: Folie à deux, the smart money is on Lady Gaga playing Dr. Harleen Quinzel, aka Harley Quinn. If so, it would obviously be a very different version of the character than the one Margot Robbie has portrayed in Birds of Prey and the Suicide Squad movies.

Kit’s report went on to say that his sources indicate the next Joker film won’t be at all like the last one. In fact, the plan is to make it into a musical.
Yeah…I wasn’t sure how to react to the news, either.
To be fair, a dark and twisted version of A Star Is Born (which Lady Gaga starred in and received an Oscar for) could be really cool. Also, the Joker films take place outside of the DCEU, allowing the chance to do something experimental like this. If Joker: Folie à deux truly is going to be a musical, then Lady Gaga is the perfect casting choice.
