Marvel Legends Retro Collection Apocalypse revealed

The figure is based on Apocalypse’s appearance in X-Men: The Animated Series…mostly.

On Monday, Hasbro revealed a new figure for their Marvel Legends Retro Collection line. This time it’s the X-Men villain Apocalypse.

Before we talk about the figure, let’s talk about what line it belongs to first. As you can see, this version of Apocalypse does not come packaged in a VHS box — a feat that would be impossible due to the figure’s large size. It also isn’t painted with the cel-shading technique that’s been used for other figures based on their characters’ appearance in X-Men: The Animated Series.

That may lead you to believe that this is simply a retro version of the figure honoring Marvel Legends’ Toy Biz roots. Upon closer inspection, however, you’ll notice that it’s clearly based on how Apocalypse looked in X-Men: The Animated Series. So despite the lack of cel shading and VHS packaging, it’s likely safe to include it in that subline.

Even if none of that matters to you, that rockin’ arm cannon probably does — especially with the included effect accessories. It’s also great that the figure comes with an alternate head for what will no doubt be some deluxe level pricing.

As of this writing, no retail price point or availability has been released/confirmed. It’s likely a fan channel (i.e. online toy store) or HasbroPulse exclusive. Whatever the case, we’ll all get to find out on Thursday at 1:00 PM EDT when Apocalypse goes up for preorder.
