The much anticipated Secret Invasion television series got its first official trailer today. There was plenty of this year’s D23 Expo that was only revealed to the folks who were lucky enough to be there. Thankfully for the rest of us, the new trailer for next year’s Secret Invasion was officially released online, featuring our first looks at Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury (or at least we think that’s Nick Fury) and Emilia Clarke’s first foray into the MCU.

For folks who’ve been complaining about Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe being too comedic, this trailer should appease them a bit. Despite the fantastic buddy cop appeal of Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos, Secret Invasion appears to be a very serious affair.
The trailer opens with Maria Hill (played once again by Colbie Smulders) chastizing Fury for avoiding Earth and her calls for help during the last several years. Fury responds that this threat was actually big enough to warrant his attention.
From there, we get several cool moments, including:
- Fury asking James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) how much he truly knows about his security detail.
- Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) hiding from someone.
- A bunch of Skrull clones (played by Kinglsey Ben-Adir) surrounding Talos.
- Olivia Coleman portraying someone who you can just tell is going to be all types of powerful/terrifying.
- Emilia Clarke’s character preparing to fire a gun at someone.
- Lots of gorgeous action sequences and explosions.
Secret Invasion will debut sometime in 2023, exclusively on Disney+.
