‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’ finally comes to Nintendo Switch in May.

The highly anticipated sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild finally has a name and a release date: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on May 12th, 2023 on Nintendo Switch. The news was announced during this morning’s Nintendo Direct presentation. Watch the trailer below:

Tears of the Kingdom builds upon Breath of the Wild‘s game engine, but will allow Link to take to the skies and experience Hyrule in a whole new way.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released in 2017 on Nintendo Wii U and Switch platforms, and is widely considered one of, if not the best entries in the storied franchise’s history. Its sequel has been one of the most anticipated games of the last decade, and it’s incredibly exciting that we’ll be returning to the game’s beautiful world in eight months.
