Dead Space frightens with new gameplay trailer

Who’s ready to hack some limbs?

A new gameplay trailer for next year’s Dead Space remake dropped today in all its bloody glory. We get a good look at the horrors engineer Isaac Clarke will face while aboard the nightmarish USG Ishimura. A variety of weapons are on full display as well, getting you ready to take Clarke from engineer to a Necromorph-killing machine.

If you’re like me, this trailer will bring back memories of playing the original Dead Space way too young and for far too long even though you were scared out of your mind (just me?). The remake will feature the same story and gameplay elements as the original while adding new features like peeling, which (you guessed it) has you shooting away the flesh of Necromorphs. It’ll remain faithful to the original while implementing visual and audio upgrades.

Long-rumored before being officially announced last summer, Dead Space will launch on January 27, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The base edition will retail for $69.99 while the $79.99 digital deluxe will net you five extra cosmetics. For $274.99 die-hard fans can get the collector’s edition and all its goodies, such as a wearable helmet, posters, the game’s soundtrack on CD, a steelbook, and other items.
