Marvel Comics has revealed new details surrounding Jonathan Hickman and Valerio Schiti’s upcoming project. The secret project, first teased at SDCC, got a blast of new information thanks to Marvel.com today. The press release suggests Hickman attended the Marvel Fanfare panel, although AIPT has it on good authority, the art revealed below was not shown, nor was Hickman present.
Check out our panel recap for more on that panel, which featured Nick Lowe, C.B. Cebulski, and Humberto Ramos.
Aside from the art below, details remain scarce. Hickman said at SDCC that this project has been in the works for three years and it was described as “Sandman for the Marvel universe.” Okay, I’m sold. Hickman also shared that when he rejoined Marvel, he pitched this upcoming idea and HOX and POX. At the time, Marvel gave the greenlight to HOX and POX.
Eagle-eyed fans will note the space backdrop on the art is the same one used at SDCC. Each piece of art revealed today has the slogan, “What happens when the powers that be meet the natural order of things?”
It’s hard to tell who these characters are, but I’m sure fans will make some guesses. Either way, Schiti is clearly doing a lot of great work with costume and tech design.
Check out the art below.
