‘Blue Beetle Graduation Day’ getting English and Spanish release simultaneously

Mark your calendars—Graduation Day is coming…in English and Spanish!

Press Release

DC Comics has revealed that the upcoming Blue Beetle Graduation Day comic book series will simultaneously debut in English and Spanish. Announced in August, the six-issue series is written by Josh Trujillo, with art by Adrian Gutierrez. Fans can preorder the Spanish language edition of Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #1 with their local comic book shop (the final order cutoff is October 30th!).

The story finds Jaime trying to decide what comes next for him—while juggling a new villain tearing up El Paso and his friends and family pressuring him about his future. Now, Jaime must figure out why messages from the Teach are bombarding his scarab, Khaji Da, and what’s drawing the Reach back to Earth… with help from some familiar faces.

Jaime Reyes, a.k.a. DC’s Blue Beetle, will debut in a new solo comic book series from writer Josh Trujillo and artist Adrián Gutiérrez, on sale November 29. The comic will be simultaneously available in both English and Spanish editions—fans can preorder the Spanish language edition of Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #1 with their local comic book shop. Make sure to get your pre-orders in before October 30th!

Fans first got a peek at the new series in DC’s Round Robin 2021, which has returned as a six-issue series following Jaime as he graduates from high school and attempts to figure out his future, responsibility to his Scarab, and what comes next for him as a Super Hero. Blue Beetle: Graduation Day will introduce new characters, like the Yellow Beetle, as well as familiar faces from across the DC Universe.

DC will release issue #1 with variant covers including Rafael Albuquerque, which is an homage to the original introduction of the character, and a papel picado insert designed by Ivan Plascencia featuring the Scarab Khaji Da, to celebrate Jaime’s solo series. The papel picado will be polybagged with a foil edition of the main cover by Gutiérrez and Quintana.
