Marvel Legends: Franklin Richards and ‘Across the Spider-Verse’ wave revealed

The Spider-Verse figures haven’t been officially announced yet, but they look fantastic.

On Tuesday, Hasbro revealed their final figure of 2022 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Marvel Legends. This time it’s Franklin Richards (son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm) along with a Turg accessory.

I’m not a huge fan of the character, but it’s a good-looking figure that comes with a nice assortment of accessories. No release or pricing info has been revealed yet, but that should be coming soon.

Oddly, toy scooper Rektangular (who has an impeccable track record) originally revealed this figure would be released as part of a two-pack with Franklin’s sister, Valeria. Since Hasbro has revealed individual figures from multipacks before, that could still be the case.

Speaking of Rektangular, let’s get to why most of you clicked on this article in the first place: Marvel Legends’ upcoming Across the Spider-Verse wave. These figures have not been officially announced, but Rektangular was able to get his hands on some leaked images thanks to @laserpants81 and @cloudnetwork.

As you can see, the wave will consist of:

  • Miles Morales
  • Spider-Gwen
  • Spider-Man 2099 (pictured individually)
  • Jessica Drew
  • Spider-Punk
  • The Spot
  • Peter B. Parker

Another toy scooper, Sergio.TheCollector, was able to snag carded pictures of the full wave except for Jessica Jones. He also got individual packaged shots of Spider-Gwen and Spider-Punk.

Look, if anyone will jump on a chance to complain about Hasbro and/or Marvel Legends these days, it’s me. But a lot of the complaints I’m currently seeing about these figures is the way they’re stylized…which is fine if that’s not your taste, but they are based on highly stylized/animated models. Additionally, the figures aren’t in that terrible windowless packaging, which is something we can all be happy about.

I’d also like to note that Gwen’s headsculpt looks fantastic. If the Miles one looks as good as the promo shot, then I may have to break down and get them both.

The wave is generally assumed to be a Target exclusive, so preorders should be announced sometime in the next two months.
